Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Augera website, curriculum, community, and programs. Please read them before creating an account or enrolling.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using the Augera website or services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or enroll in our programs.

2. About Augera

Augera, LLC is a for-profit social enterprise based in Massachusetts that provides financial literacy education to young people ages 13 to 25. Our curriculum is designed with students ages 15 to 25 in mind, and younger students are welcome.

Augera is not a tax exempt charitable organization. Contributions and payments to Augera are not tax deductible charitable donations. We are working toward establishing a nonprofit arm, and we will say so clearly here if and when tax deductible giving becomes available.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

If you are under 18, you may use the site and enroll only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Certain programs require a signed parent or guardian consent form before participation begins.

Under 13. Augera is not intended for children under 13, and accounts may not be created for them.

Your account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred. Tell us promptly at hello@augera.org if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Programs, Enrollment, Payments, and Cancellation

Program details, schedules, and pricing are described at the point of enrollment and may change.

Free membership. The Augera Community includes free access to selected lessons, community channels, challenges, and resources. We may modify what is included in free access.

Paid membership. Paid memberships are billed on a recurring basis at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. You may cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access through the end of that period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods unless required by law.

Contributions. Contributions made through our support pages fund program operations and are not purchases of goods or services. As stated above, they are not tax deductible.

Price changes. We will give existing members advance notice by email before any change to their recurring price takes effect.

5. The Augera Scholarship Club

The Augera Scholarship Club is an educational and accountability program. Members learn how the scholarship process works, receive information about outside scholarship opportunities and deadlines, share what they are learning with other members, and get structure and encouragement while they prepare their own applications.

Please understand clearly what the Scholarship Club is not:

• Augera does not award scholarships and does not provide any funds, grants, tuition assistance, or financial awards to students.
• Augera is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent for any scholarship provider, foundation, university, or funder whose opportunities we may reference or discuss.
• Augera does not submit, review, score, or influence any outside scholarship application. You apply directly to the organization offering the scholarship, on that organization's terms.
• Augera does not guarantee that any member will receive a scholarship, be selected, or obtain any particular financial or academic outcome.

Information we share about outside opportunities is provided for educational purposes and may change without notice. Deadlines, eligibility rules, and award amounts are set by the organizations offering them, and you are responsible for verifying the current requirements directly with that organization before applying.

6. Acceptable Use and Community Conduct

You agree to use Augera lawfully and respectfully. In our community spaces, you agree not to:

• harass, bully, threaten, or demean other members;
• post hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content;
• share another person's private information;
• promote, solicit, or sell products, services, or investments to members;
• give individualized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice to other members;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation; or
• misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or services.

Because our community includes minors, we moderate actively. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards, at our discretion and without notice where safety requires it.

Your content. You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Augera a non exclusive license to display and distribute that content within our platform for the purpose of operating the community. We may use anonymized excerpts of student work or feedback in program and impact reporting, and we will ask permission before using anything that identifies a student.

7. Educational Content, Not Financial Advice

This is important. Augera provides general financial education for learning purposes only. Our lessons, tools, simulators, assessments, and community discussions are not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and no content on Augera should be treated as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial product.

Any simulators or games on our platform use hypothetical scenarios and do not involve real money or real securities transactions. Results shown are illustrative and are not predictions of actual outcomes.

You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. Augera's instructors, facilitators, and community members are not acting as your financial advisors.

8. Intellectual Property

The Augera curriculum, content, materials, and branding, including the Augera name and logo, are owned by Augera, LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Your membership grants you a personal, non transferable right to access the materials for your own learning.

You may not copy, redistribute, publish, resell, or create derivative works from our materials without written permission, except as allowed by law. Schools and organizations wishing to use our curriculum should contact hello@augera.org about a partnership.

9. Third Party Materials and Links

Our site and curriculum may reference third party materials or link to third party websites, tools, scholarship providers, or financial institutions. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third parties, and a reference is not an endorsement. Third party trademarks belong to their respective owners.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The site and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Augera, LLC and its members, officers, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or services, including any financial decision you make or any scholarship outcome. Our total liability for any claim relating to the services will not exceed the amount you paid to Augera in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Termination

You may stop using Augera and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue a program. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will survive.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and we will notify account holders by email of material changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
