Privacy Policy

Augera, LLC ("Augera," "we," "us," or "our") is a for-profit social enterprise based in Massachusetts that provides financial literacy education to young people. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Because many of the people who use Augera are under 18, we have written this policy to be read by students and parents alike. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@augera.org and we will explain it plainly.
1. Who We Are

Augera operates the website at www.augera.org, the Augera Community, and the Augera curriculum and related programs.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly. When you create an account, join our email list, enroll in a program, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, age or grade level, school or organization, and the content of any message you send.
Information created as you use Augera. As you move through the curriculum we record progress data, including lessons started and completed, assessment responses and scores, and community posts, comments, and reactions you choose to make.
Payment information. If you purchase a paid membership or make a contribution, payment is processed by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of the transaction and limited billing details. We never receive or store your full card number.
Technical information. We automatically collect limited technical data such as browser type, device type, IP address, referring page, and pages visited, through cookies and analytics tools.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and administer your account and deliver the programs you enroll in;
- track and display your learning progress;
- respond to your questions and requests;
- operate the Augera Scholarship Club, including sharing information about outside scholarship opportunities and deadlines and supporting members as they work on their own applications;
- send you program updates, and, only if you have opted in, marketing and newsletter emails;
- operate, secure, and improve our website, curriculum, and community;
- measure the impact of our programs in aggregate, including for grant reporting and partner reporting; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to serve you third party advertising.
4. Students Under 18
Augera serves young people ages 13 to 25. Our curriculum is designed with students ages 15 to 25 in mind, and younger students are welcome.
Under 13. Augera is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact hello@augera.org.
Ages 13 to 17. If you are under 18, you may create an account and enroll only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. For programs involving live sessions or coaching, we require a signed parent or guardian consent form before participation begins.
Parent and guardian rights. A parent or legal guardian may, at any time, request to review the personal information we hold about their minor child, request that we correct or delete it, or ask us to stop collecting further information. Email hello@augera.org and we will verify the request and respond.
Community safety. Augera's community spaces are moderated. Students are asked not to share sensitive personal details, such as home address, financial account numbers, or identification numbers, in community posts, and we remove such content when we find it.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information only in these circumstances:
Service providers. We use trusted vendors to run Augera, including our course and community platform, payment processor, video hosting provider, and email and analytics providers. These vendors may access information only as needed to provide services to us.
Schools and community partners. Where you enroll through a school, community center, or sponsoring organization, we may share participation and completion information with that partner. We share aggregate or de-identified impact data with funders and partners, never individual student data for that purpose without consent.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information where required by law, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a student or another person.
Business transfers. If Augera is involved in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, including a future conversion to or affiliation with a nonprofit entity, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Scholarship providers. Augera does not submit applications on your behalf and does not share your information with scholarship providers, universities, or funders. When you apply for an outside scholarship, you deal with that organization directly and its own privacy practices apply.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect parts of the site. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
7. Data Retention
We keep account and progress information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legitimate business, reporting, and legal purposes. You may request deletion at any time as described below.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, and we rely on established platform providers who maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate;
- Delete your account and associated personal information, subject to records we must retain by law;
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any message. Essential account and program emails will continue while your account is active.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@augera.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, and we will honor those rights where they apply.
10. Massachusetts and Other State Laws
Augera is based in Massachusetts, and this policy is governed by Massachusetts law. If you reside in a state that grants additional privacy rights, you may exercise those rights by contacting us at hello@augera.org. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised effective date. If we make a material change affecting how we handle student information, we will notify account holders by email.
